As some may know I am battleing the green nasty bryopsis and am considering all sorts to resolve it.

one such thought (after a phosphate reactor) was to put a small fuge behind the main display tank and house cheato in there, and use the output from my external filter to feed it and then drill the tank to allow gravity to do the rest as it would be slightly higher than the main display tank, however myh concerns are firstly if this would be beneficial in battling bryopsis and secondly if my way of feeding it is a viable option?

My thoughts are that as long as i drill and fit a larger outlet than inlet the water will not over fill the fuge, likewise if all power is lost there would be minimal excess water draining into the main tank so wouldnt need non return valves, also this way no additional pumps would be required.

However as said above im not sure if cheato would help battle this stuff which would defeat the idea of adding it if it doesnt, so would be great if someone could help me out with that one?

also would this type of setup work or would I need to put something else in the fuge?

Sounds to me more like you want an HOB refugium. Usually these come with their own small pumps, no need to get tricky with powerfilters. They're also often very affordable. A refugium will probably not eliminate byropsis, but it'll certainly slow it down.
