I don't have much money to spend of lighting after buying everything else. But I know it's very important in a reef, so I'm looking for some advise on lighting for a 20 long.

I found this on ebay what do you think?

I just really don't want to wast my money on something that won't work.

Please help

Other than it being too long for a (24"?) 20g tank, I think it's fine...

The same seller has multiple 24" 130W fixtures for sale as well though. I'd go for those.

Edit: Of course... having posted this, it occurs to me that a 20g long is 30". Still, I think the 24" might still be the way to go if you can hang them. Optionally, there are 30" fixtures out there.

I guess I found out my self on reef central

"Hard corals, clams and anemones need a minimum of 6-8 W/gal, depending on the water depth."

I guess I need more watts damn

To be completly honest, I'm not sure an anenome is ideal for your tank regardless of lighting. They tend to grow very big, and need serious water movement without the use of powerheads in the tank, as well as being fussy about water quality. Maybe the anenome could be replaced by various soft corals- these would be easier to keep and clowns may still host in them?
HTH

ps. I think it was Navarre who put up a picture of his clowns hosting in a soft coral a while ago, and you can see one of my clowns next to its xenia on the left.

Dont get an anenome just for clowns. They have a disasterous survival rate and there is no guarentee a clown will even host in it. A better option is a Sarcophyton leather coral. Mine has hosted 2 clowns since it has been in my tank.. my Maroon clown and a pair of percs. I now have a new pair of clowns in the tank and they totally ignore it :grr:

Exactly the same coral a year later.
