Hi, so I have to redo the sealant in my aquarium and I have all of equipment to do it, I was just wondering if I could do something to help speed up the curing process? If I spray some water in the tank and cover the top with Saran Wrap will that help? I was reading that humidity helps speed the process up. If anyone wants to know what I’m using, it’s Momentive RTV100 adhesive.

If this sealant doesn't say "for aquarium use" then don't use it. Most aquarium silicones take 10 days to cure, and they need 10 days.

I use

This is a good thread to tell you a story.

My 150 g tank is a rebuild. The glass was originally bought for a mate for his place, he found some sealant that was recommended to him that was meant to be the strongest sealant made, he liked it because it was super clear. I advised him to build the tank with the silicone I knew, but he decided to use this other product, so we built the tank. Twelve months later the tank fell apart in his living room and he lost about $2000 worth of fish, his wife said never again, and I received the glass. I cleaned it up and rebuilt the tank using the correct silicone, ten years later it is here

Silicon dries and cures best in warm dry environments. Cool conditions and damp conditions slow the process.

Most silicon takes 24 hours to become touch dry and fully sets in 7 days under good conditions (warm and dry).

If it's a big tank (4 foot or bigger), give it 7 days.

If it's a small tank (2 foot) and you are just resealing the insides but not replacing the silicon between the glass, then a couple of days should be fine if it's warm and dry.

As suggested, it takes several days, 1-2 weeks (minimum 7 days). Not worth rushing it, and having to regret it will be such as drag + a lot of extra work and money.
Although I have not used this very adhesive, I know of people who have, and consider it one of the best. I have used GE 1.
