ok heres my problem, this is my tank stand at the mo:
tankstand.jpg

it was a flat pack for pets at home, i want to get rid of it and build myself one so i can put a sump in the it. now my main problem is that i dont want to drain my tank to do it. i was thinking that i could slap in a few supports and timber across the top bit (sorta build the new stand around it) and then just rip out the middle support.

you guys think its possible? any comments good or bad welcome :D

I really don't think that's a good idea. If you are going to the trouble of adding a sump, do it properly from the start; build the new stand then transfer everything over. A bit of a pain I know, but at least you will be able to sleep at night.

I dont think its a good idea either ! You are playing with alot of weight there !

i know but that means i gotta move alot of corals and live rock around, not to mention fish in inverts! i know its lazy. will just wait another year till i move then build the sump in when i get a bigger tank :D

Good choice. When you're dealing with that much weight, it's better to do it right from the start
