How long does redmoor root usually take to sink?

it just depends on the piece i have had a bit in my tank for 3 weeks now and i am still having to weigh it down!

I had one large piece that took a month and another that took a couple of weeks, depends on the wood.

depends on the wood but if you get bored you can always tie it to a bit of slate to keep it down / in position, maybe little screw hooks used to hang up paintings? to hold it down?
