Red Zebra Danios

There is no such species, these coloured fish are either dyed or genetically modified. Some people call it transgenic, its the same thing!
If they are dyed or painted then the fish could have been injected with a needle, not a very nice way to make a nice fish gaudy.

Ken

I've heard somewhere of these red zebra danios that are genetically modified, as Ken said, that turn red with water impurities. That might just be fish gossip though. ;)

Thats a myth about the water polution these particular fish where made to study development. auratus decided to not do any research but spout it out and then try and discredit me because I'm dyslexic and cannot spell.

If they cost less than 5 bucks they are dyed but if they cost more they are flourescent (glow under a black light)

Opcn

when did auratus do that, opcn?

these red danios are called 'glofish'.
