Hi

Will Red Whiptail Catfish damage plants?
I bought a small one, around 4 cm a couple of weeks ago and am now considering moving it into my planted 15 gal. But before i did i jus wanted to make sure that they do not damage plants.
They are one hella good lookin whip.

well i've got a normal whiptail in my 18gallon planted tank and my plants are okay he prefers the algae wafers i throw in for him

My whiptail doesn't move anything, not even the gravel...

he'll eat algea wafers and bottom feeder wafers and that's it

no algea or veggies for him!

He doesn't move either, he just sits still all day and then once in a while move a few inches

i'm kinda disappointed by him

My normal whip does exactly the same thing but the reds seem to be a little more adventurous

yea red whiptails are so active i have to say.

they are out even during the day! and go crazy when i feed my fish. (frozen bloodworms and brine shrimp...etc) he seems to love the bloodworm.

I jus put him into the planted tank and he is lookin fiiine. haha
