Red Torpedo Barbs

Hi all. i have just got 4 torepedo barbs. this is the first time i have ever kept them. could some plz tell me are these easy fish to breed, wow they are stunning looking fish. i am very happy with them.

Hello, they are stunning fish. But I think they are becoming endangered generally as they seem to have shot up in price recently, and for this reason i'm going to say that they aren't easy to breed. But i'm just going by common sense.

They aren't easy to breed, most of the one u found in ur LFS is mostly Hormone breed in fish farm. India already put up a law banning people from exporting denisonii. For more info on how to breed them u can read this link:

If ur tank is big enought for them, they'll grow very fast. I got 7 in my 125g right now, I have them for almost 3 years now. My alpha messure up to 15 cm atm, I think it could get to 20 no problem if giving enought food and space. I feed twice a day, once in the morning with flakes and once at night with blood worm. They r extreamly ez fish to keep. Good luck with ur breeding program .
