I noticed I had a red tailed black shark that seemed to be a little strange. He was the biggest of the three I had and would usually chase the other two off if they got too close. One day I noticed that his back was crooked. Looking straight down, his back was shaped in a curve. He would swim around in circles to get where he wanted to go, but would still chase the other two when feeling frisky.

Tank conditions were normal and everybody else was fine. Hadn't added any new fish or chemicals, or done anything abnormal. He lasted about 3-4 weeks like this and finally checked out. Anyone know anything about this??? :/

Maybe he got caught in something and fractured his spine?

Hmm, it's possible it was an underlying birth defect. "Bad genes" that eventually led to his crooked back.

I really don't know what to tell you. :dunno:
