Just wandering...

The last one i owned was bright pink...he grew to about 4" before i sold him on and the new one i have is about 2" and is more orange...

Is this quality of stock? or will my new one eventually go that pinky red colour?

He could color up. But some are dark some are lighter. They also change color with the mood light color could mean stressed or being picked on. Darker could be he is feeling strong or horny they will be brighter. I like the orange one.

its a young sev it should colour up as it grows. , feeding shrimp/prawn/krill etc along with a good staple cichlid pellet like hikari gold for example will really help colouring/development. also try to include some vegetable matter in its diet. mine like cucumber and tetra pro veggie crisps.
my red spotted started out pretty light but darkened a lot as he grew as these pics should show. hope this helps .

when i 1st got him about a year ago
