Hi, I have 6 Harlequin Rasbora's and 1 has a swollen underneath and red spots around the sides (see photo) I also have Cardinal tetras, rummy nosed tetras and amano shrimp. They all seem fine. Water params all look pretty normal too. Ph7, ammonia very close to zero and nitrates about 15-20. Any advice what it is likey to be? Thanks!

Hello 👋🏻 unfortunately this may very well be an internal bacterial infection, I'm not an expert in fish diseases so I wouldn't know what meds (if any) to suggest. @Colin_T is the resident fish-doctor...hang tight and he'll be along to help when he can 👍🏻

Since it's nearly impossible to know what's going wrong. The fish shows signs of dropsy and internal bleeding. If the others are doing fine for the moment.

As a preventive measure, I would remove it, and euthanize the most human way possible.

The crooked spine is bad omen and the bloat of the region around the liver and intestine are probably causing compression of it's heart in addition of the swelling.

I'm sincerely sorry, but I don't think there's anything you can do besides stopping his suffering.
