There is a red spot on the tail of one of my white goldfish, and as it swims around the other fish it seems they try to eat at it or something, what could this be and what can I do. also I noticed the red spot sort of runs down the body like a line.

How many gallons or litres is the tank.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
The red spot does it have a circling of white around the edges of the spot.
How big are the spots are they pin head size.

Read this first, but is does sound bacterial for now.
Got to go to bed falling a sleep here.
Good luck.
Red spots on skin can be caused by:
Regarding the small red dot, small pinprick like haemorrhages (called petechiae) can be due to a local lesion, a generalised septicaemia or toxaemia caused by acute viral and bacterial infections.

270 Gal. pond
12 goldfish I don't know what kind.
Not sure of water stats I will check tomorrow.
The red spot covers the entire tail on one side of this fish and theres another small white goldfish which is being covered with red spots also. One of the bigger gold goldfishes has a white spot around his stomach or so. I'll check water stats tomorrow.

How long has the pond been going and do you do water changes on it?

Its vital you look after the pond like you would a large tank and clean out filters, check stats and do water changes often. The bottom of the pond if not kept clean builds up with bacteria which attacks the fishes immune system.

Sounds like a bacterial disease and a close up pic would be good.
