i would very much like to put a common lion fish pterios volitans in the red sea max marine tank 34 gallons. would there be enough room after i have put some live rock in etc?
Pterois volitans is a big fish. They have been recorded to hit 15'' in the wild. Fifty gallons is less than half of what is optimal in the long run, though a baby could be kept in a 34 gallon tank. They grow incredibly quickly, however.
A 34 gallon tank could easily sustain a dwarf lion. I would stick to one of these if I were you.
