i have seen this product in rce (rats cats and elephants my lfs) and it would cut the cost of joes juice (online delivery) my soldering iron is crap and doesnt kill them its killed one after 4 times trying and most of the aiptasia is on a heavy rock.

The only thing that worked for me was getting a pair of True Peppermint Shrimps,I have never see any of the dreaded aiptasia since! :D

well i got one and its not eating any so maybe i should add another one?

it may be too big for your tank harry not sure but i had aptasia tried aptasia x and joes juice and soldering iron and pepermints but the only one that worked was my common file fish (also called aptasia eating file fish) he has cleaned them away from my 5 foot reef and each rock was covered very quickly too

but not sure on there min tank size but if its ok then id get one he has truely worked wonders and is a very cool addition to your tank aswell id suggest one to any one

bae

The other thing to bear in mind with peppermints if they are getting hold of mysis etc. they will ignore the aiptasia why go hunt when dinner comes to you :)

on the website it said true peppermint shrimp i have seen it in the bag and tank it looked very much like a true one. i have seen those file fish but they might eat my cuc when the aptasia is gone. i did stop feeding the tank for a few days and nothing happend.

I also have a bristle tail file fish & she is an aiptasia eating pro :good: She hasnt touched any other corals or CUC, she's a pretty, graceful little thing & feeds on frozen brine now that the aiptasia is gone.

I will have to avoid corals such as Duncans, but she should be fine with everything else

I suppose its horses for courses then as far as the Pepp are concerned, mine are fab, quite shy, BUT, whenever I put a new frag or piece of rock in, they come out and check it over straight away! I did have a bit of a scare when they started on my Xenia, but they only ate one or two heads(which regenerated in days) I was told these were probably diseased anyway and the Pepps could 'smell' it. have had no problems since.
I'd better start looking at raising some of the hatches they produce at regular intervals, because I have come to rely on them a bit!!

this product worked well for me, took a few attempts to kill the big one but other then that worked very effectively.

They take time to start getting them IMO, i had loads got two peppermint and eventually they all went. Took a couple of months though. They do tend to ignore the big beasty ones too. Soldering iron :)

I posted a vid on Youtube of this product ages ago, It does seem to work in my experience, but if the aiptasia are large, often you will get one pop up smaller from where it was last anchored, However after killing further outbreaks it is possible to totally eradicate them using Aiptasia X. I would just recommend that you don't try and kill too many in one go if you have quite a few.
