Hiya, hope someone can shed some light on this. -_-

We have an 85L tank, been cycled for 2 months or so, with 6 x zebra danios, 2 x paradise fish, 1x khulli loach and 2 x red robin gouramis.

Over the last day or so we have noticed that one of the Gouramis' dorsal fin has started to become dark at the base - that is his (or her....) distinctive red colour has darkened, becoming almost black.
Other than this, there is no apparent problems with the fish; its feeding as normal, as competitive as normal and swimming ok. They have been in the tank for a month now.

Testing the water, ammonia and nitrIte are both 0 and nitrAte is 20 ppm. The pH is 7.4. Have just finished treating the tank for white spot, so the temp has been a bit higher than normal, with treatment in and extra aeration.

We were wondering if this is normal, or the precursor to something bad, and if so what could be done to prevent anything bad happening! :look: :dunno:

I would try some mealfix first.
