when i woke up this morning i noticed that one of my BAT have this red patch on her side..... what is it ?

i looked around the net and think it might be a bacterial infection ?
:(

If it helps, the tank is heavily planted, its tank mates are another BAT, a couple of mollys, 2 ottos, 4 corys.

The BAT shown in the pictures still eats a lot...

:( whats wrong :(

Is it hollowed out or is that just how it looks like in the picture? I'd treat her in a seperate tank for a bacterial infection in case that is what's wrong and also to prevent an infection if that's an injury. Salt would also help.

Start with medication straight away , anti internal bacteria med, antibiotics with of been better, it could also indicate septicemia.

actually its bulged out :( hmm im having a hard time finding fish meds.. is there something that i should be looking for ? i found a err treated fish food from sera i think ? medicated fish food ? is that alright ? so i should seperate her and feed the medicated food to her alone right ?

hmm if i treat her with salt i have to seperate her because i have cories... time to bring out the other tank :)

where do i find fish antibiotics btw ? :(

Medicated food is usually antibiotic so that should be fine, though it will take a couple of days to kick in, good luck.

i went around the malls and weirdly enough couldn't find medicated fish food, is there a way i can prepare one myself ? using human antibiotics ? :(

Yes if you tell me what you have.

ohhh thats wicked.. im in another country and they might go under a diff name here ....... but lets see there is only one that i found in my house now, amoxicillin is the generic name i found :) but what do you think is better ? i make one myself or buy those medicated ones ? :(

Two antibiotics are tetracycline,erythromylin

tetracycline, erythromylin ... are those the ones found in amoxicillin ?? :( i dont quite get it.. im really sorry .... :( if ever how do i prepare the tabs for fish medication ?

What mg are the antibiotic, they are two ways you can feed it mixed in food, or add to the water, but the food option is the best, you use a tiny bit of the tablet crush it up to a fine powder, take a egg and seperate it from the yolk only need the white of the egg, do you have any freeze dried products, take abit of brimestrimp roll it in the eye white, then roll the brimstrimp in the antibiotic power, place on a dish and put in the fridege to set hard, then feed to the sick fish.

the antibiotic is 500mg

ic ic i have freeze dried bloodworms now, maybe i can do the same thing :)

im gonna wait if its ok to use the 500 mg antibiotic and feed it to my sick fish :) hmmm this forum skin is really dark.... :)

I've used 500mg just use a tiny bit of the antibiotics, if adding to the water half the tablet and mash into a fine power and stir in some tank water till it disolves.
