Does anyone have any of these?
If so,how are they with other peaceful fish? (clowns, rummys,SAE's Otos, rainbows)
Did you have any trouble finding them?
Were they expensive?
The only water parameter that might be a concern for our tank is the temp. From what I read, their optimum temp range is 66-77F.Our average temp is 80-82F.
Never knew they existed until we saw them in magazine! They are really cool looking!
Any info on these fish would be appreciated

Thanks
Greg

very expencive but a very pretty fish. they seem to be ok with the other fish. bout for the most part I :dunno:

They started cropping up again in the trade about 18 months ago. A peaceful schooling fish. They are available from many places and the prices have dropped. They are about a quarter of the price now they were 18 months back, they are somewhat seasonal, so may not be available all the time, although the exporters tend to hold reserves to keep the market "topped up". They are about the £10.00 mark.

Gadazobe has got some of them. Look at this thread.

I have three of these fish. They are excellent. Have had them for 6 months now and plan to get 3 to 5 more or even more than that :D . They are expensive but worth it.

They come from South India, Karnataka state and Kerala, in fast moving streams. There appaear to be at least two variants, but itti snot certain whether this is just a colour morph or a sub-species.
They are quite tolerant of water parameters in terms of Ph ~6.5 -7.5 , but need good clean oxygenated water.

Having said that i have lapsed in my maintenance over the last few months, plants gone to crap, but fish very healthy. Pulling my finger out now, seem to lose interest in the hobby over summer months.

£10 is a decent price for them, but I have seen them for sale at £21 which is rediculous.

If you want them for a good price try mail ordering them via Tri-mar (in UK).

If you like Silver sharks, but do not have room for a 5ft plus tank then these are great alternatives and arguably more striking.

They grow 4-6" (10-15cm).
