ok i "had" a red hook silver dollar...the lfs told me these fish were quite peaceful/semi agressive....but a few days later i put some feeders in for my dragon goby and..the red hook ate em....i though red hooks were vege/frozen/dried food eaters is it comon for a red hook to eat other fish?

perhaps the red hook 'silver dollars' were mislabelled and are actually red-bellied piranhas?

Most fish will eat what ever little fish they can get into their mouths.
I assume your dragon goby is the violet specie?

Dragon (violet) gobies dont eat feeder fish. They are omnivorous! They only eat plants! Make sure you do some research on your dragon goby before he dies!

I have seen red hooks before and they are CARNIVORES!!!! they will eat any other fish smaller than itself and if not it will chew it to death this may not be a piranha but they can do the same damage but soo your stuck im afraid.

See the difference in the red fin? The red hooks have an elongated one, compared to regular SDs. It's pretty easy to see in person.
