In a fish tank! Inside a little cave. o.O;
Hi, Fluffy Bala Sharks here again.
Here's where it gets fun again. So about three days ago, I come home, and being the nosey, Bala Shark loving little freak I am, I stroll over to my tank to peek in on my fishies. To find a horrible, VERY freaking horrible suprise. However; some of you may have known I had an issue with the tank being a little cloudy, however that problem was solved. Anyways, back on track; I come home to find, not one. Not two. But EIGHT new freaking fish in my aquarium.

Seven guppies and one red-finned black shark. Oh joy, so only one person could've done this with out my consent. My mother. So I go to her and ask why the hell I have seven male guppies in my tank and a rainbow shark. She replies; "Oh I remembered you saying you wanted to get some guppies and a rainbow shark something." ofcourse having said this, it was planned for a MUCH later time, and I was debating between either guppies or a red-finned, considering the red-finned is abit agressive, and what not, etc, etc. Back to my concern;

All the fish are getting along, the red-finned has claimed the little cave stone, and chases everyone away from it EXCEPT my two Bala Sharks, and like two or three of the guppies. Anyhow, during feeding time, I NEVER see the red-finned eat. He isn't slowed down or anything, and he isn't becomming incresingly lame, I'm wondering if perhaps he's eating when I'm not looking? Or is he eating at night, I'm not exactly positive what's happening with him. Anyhow, any advice on these lovely sharks would be appreciated. ._. Bala's are my specialty, not Red-Fins...

~Fluffy

P.S. I spoke to mother and she said she's going to set up the other tank we have, which is about 100 U.S. Gallons I beleive, and she's going to be taking the guppies off my hands. THANK GOD. :grr: 'Cause personally, they're too cute for my taste. :X

Firstly;
a. What exactly have you tried feeding the shark?
b. When exactly is your mum getting you this 100gallon tank?

We already have the 100 gallons tank. However, she's too selfish to take the fifty gallon even though she's getting all itty bitty fish for it, that won't be any bigger than four inches long. However, I feed him the same thing I feed the other fish, I've been reading up on the Red-Fins for a few hours now, trying to figure out if he needs a different diet.

The Rainbow shark would be better off in the 50gal while the bala sharks would be better off in the 100gal- why don't you just come to a compromise and share tanks :) ? Its important the bala sharks get a bigger tank as otherwise you will need to rehome them soon (how long and wide is the 100gal by the way?). Rainbow sharks do best on things like algae wafers/tablets and catfish pelets, they don't tend to take things like flake foods and rarely feed from the surface, so sinking foods like algae wafers are the best for them :good: (frozen, not dried, bloodworms are good too) .
