Red Fin Shark and Clown Loach

Both are aged approx 4/5 year, I understand the previous own had them both young.

They keep casing each other around the tank, when they think the “cost is clear” and no body’s in the room.

I looks like fun, however it is always the shark chasing the Clown, is this normal?

Red tailed sharks are known for their anti social aggressive characters and dumbness, they will chase away anything they think remotely looks the same as themselves.By adding extra decor to the tank to block the RTBS line of sight you can curb this problem.
Clown loaches are a shoal fish and need to be kept in groups of at least 3,the loach is probably antagonising the shark by trying to shoal with him,if you can get the clown loach some friends to shoal with it would be better.(and yes they have to be clown loaches).

thanks for the info chlorofluorocarbons

I through you were phased-out for Deplete the Ozone Layer

I agree with adding/repositioning more decors. I have a red tailed shark with 3 SAE. he chases them away when he sees the SAE, but not to the point of just bugging them all day.

I changed the position of some rocks, and plants and added a driftwood, and the chasing was minimized! I hardly seem him chase them anymore.

PS: I think what CFC means. cat fish crazy...but the chloroflourocarbon thing was funny... :fun:
