I have bought two of these as a somewhat impulsive buy really
I had a spare tank on the kitchen work top
So far so good very attractive fish no aggression, they're about 3inch long
The eyes actually iridescent and the tails got slight red in it however the body is an olive like colour with lots of red spots on
Anyone ever kept them

Yes, nice fish. Have written about them previously on TFF, so do have a search for Carinotetraodon irrubesco. Will observe mine were rather shy in the small tank, but livened up considerably when moved to the 180 litre system.

Cheers, Neale

This should hopefully be a pic

Bizarre it's on mine here's the link

Yikes, bad news for simonas, or rather his duo!

I originally made a comment about the 3 inch size throwing me a little during yesterday's reply, as the Borneo Red Eye Puffer group stay under 6cm, but I deleted the comment thinking perhaps your size estimate was perhaps a little generous.

Not a Carinotetraodon!

That's an Asian Tetraodon species of some sort. One of the "target puffer" group. Will get to 15-20 cm long, very nasty personality. Keep alone!

Cheers, Neale

I thought it may be it resembles a puffer I kept about 6 yes ago with a bigger red spot on side a leirus or something from memory

Seems it's an abei size wise not bad but I will split them and tell the lfs to label them properly

They're doing great mate
Very active and interesting
When I walk in they follow me about, they both sit togetherin a cave as well so cute
