the guy i bought my red eye from said that i need to add at least 1 teaspoon to every gallon is that true and will it hurt my puffer?

Freshwater puffers do not require salt, however a little medicinal salt will do no harm.

Fish00- A word to the wise, replying to your own posts like this, which I have seen you do many times, may increase your post count, but is a good way to get a PM from the Mods. It's considered spamming. Please don't do it.
The EDIT button is there for a reason.
