Red Cynobacteria

I have been fighting red cyno my whole tank life and it won't go away. I used Chem-X or whatever and it still does not help much. Has anyone found a way to fight it and beat it sucessfully without it coming back? If so please tell me.

A skimmer does the trick for me. Have you done a test for nitrates and phosphates? If not do oen and post what they are. You just need to find some way to lower your nutrients. Maybe if you don't want a skimmer you could get some macro algae? Some people also say increased flow helps prevent it.

Yes..read my post on it under the marine section. The problem is poor nutrient export or overfeeding......you must have a problem with the water quality. Read the post. SH
