Red Claw Crab Help Needed

I have had my Red claw crabs for a week with no problems. Today 3 of the 4 crabs were very still somtimes on their backs. 1 died. the water level is quite high with little chance for them to get out into air. I wondered if they were drowning so I made a platform for the others to sit on 1 seems to have died but the other looks much stronger now. I also think the first crab to die had eggs as there was a red jelly under it. One of the crabs keeps opening a sort of flap underneath itself. Any advise on how to keep these properly would be good.

they are technically land crabs, so need access to 'land' for 90% of their lives. They also require brackish water.

crabs are cool and i have one,each crab has a difrent person nality one dood had a really mean one,and mines shy and will come out of her dino skull only to drag a algy wafer in to it. and also dont catch the crab with a mesh net, they will only climb out,and if it gets out of the tank leave water dishes every were and maybe youl find the crabs i a dish still alive i like fish

no thats hermit crabs dont leave the crab out of the water

I have found these crabs to be quite good at escaping the tank, i had 2 a few years ago and both managed to escape.

The first one was killed by my young son who thought it was a spider and splatted it with a shoe lol, the second one vanished completely, i checked everywhere in and around the tank and nothing, i found it around 2 years later all dried up underneath the stairs cupboard

If they want to get out the tank they will usually find a way.
