Hello one and all.

I have only recently found the fun and joy an aquarium can bring. At present I have a 10G tank with a variety of tropical fish that all seem happy.

However, I would like some sort of crab and lobster combination, I have decided to keep these in a sperate tank (24" x 15" x 12") because i dont want my plant life and delicate fish to get hacked to pieces!

My intention was to keep only a singlr specie, The Red Thai crab" but if it is possible i would like a little variation.

Would it be possible to add a different kinda crab or a blue tail lobster?

They will have plenty of places to hide, Can somebody tell me if this is possible or recommend another idea?

Thanks.

Regards, Steve.

I doubt that adding a lobster would work due to them being active predator hunters.
adding another species of crab wouldn't work either as they would fight for the territory rights and
being in such a small enclosed space ith no-where to run off to, the fight would be to the death.

stick with one species and keep that.

checkout this site for lots of species of shrimp, crayfish and crabs

If you want a mixture, you could have different shrimps, but that is about all I can think of ion the invert front. Crabs and lobsters don't mix; also the tank is to small. Even if you decide to choose just one species of crab, choose carefully, the tank is quite small and crabs (even of the same species) often fight to the death if they don't have enough room.

Remember that red crabs need Brackish water so make sure the blue tail needs this as well. Even if this is the case I don't think they are a good match.
