Red Cherry Shrimp Babies - Advice

I've noticed that a few of my shrimp are carrying eggs.

I have a sponge filter but I was wondering should I cover the filter unit with tights to stop the babies possibly being sucked in when they hatch, or will they be ok as it is?

They should be fine.. I heard that female alder catkins make good noms for babies.
