I was stoked to find Red Cabomba at a somewhat local fish store. I've had it for a month, and it grows, but also sheds a lot. What's interesting is that as it grows it will shed it's lower "leaves/branches".

I have 2.3wpg, pressurized CO2, and eco-complete.

Does anyone know how to properly care for these? Should I be pulling off shoots? In the month I've had it it's grown maybe an inch taller, but bunches out quite a bit. The problem is those bunches break off, float around my aquarium until it gets stuck on something, or if it's small enough gets sucked into my filter.

Thanks for your help! 8)

Are you talking about Myriophyllum tuberculatum (Red)?

I used to have that in my tank as well, and I had the same problem w/ the leaves falling off, getting stuck on something, and being sucked into the filter and all that... Maybe it needed more light than the 2.6wpg in my tank. And perhaps my DIY CO2 wasn't enough. I have very soft water, so maybe that was it too.
