PS: Do I need another male betta to make mines flare ? I tried a mirror but he wont fall for it

I dont think you need a mirror - I have heard that a mirror backing to the tank can cause problems with stress levels in the Betta which is why I covered the backing of my tank with a backround!!

He just seems to Flare cos he wants to ! Maybe he can see his reflection in the tank glass side when the lights are on ?? I dont know ??

He does only seem to do it when I feed him (Bloodworm)

How long have you had your Betta Spanair ?? Maybe he is just really chilled out and does not want to flare ??

lol, he might be still steling down, or so I was told in the betta forums, which might be true. I've had him for about 2 weeks or so. When I feed mines bloodworms at first he showed he's gills but didn't flare. Only seen him flare once and that was for some odd reason at first because he might of been confused with the other fishes or some what.

Any hows hopefully if not, I can get him to flare when I get another male and put it next the to the aquarium, see if he does then
