it is a stupid question probably...i dont know tho cuz i have never had RBP! lol

thanks

One can be kept in a 30 gallon tank, but it will not be happy, and will basically hide in a corner untill it's fed.

You need at least a group of 6 piranahas and a 100 gallon tank.

yeah they get a good size, i saw one that was brought in to my lfs and it was a good size, had to be close to a foot long if it wasn't, and the bodies are just as big

I have had two red bellies for almost 14 years now. I started in a 55 gallon tank with 4. I have found that as they get bigger (your tank is getting smaller) they will eventually eat the smaller weaker ones. I started off with four and now I have two. To get down to the 2 from the 4 in a 55 gallon tank took almost 4-6 years (dont quite remember exactly) I would suggest more than one though. I found that with only one they tend to eat when they want and they are not as active. With two I found that feeding time is much better due to the 2 competing for the food. well eating as fast as they could because they didnt know how long the food was going to last. with a single one they tend to eat at their leizure and thats no fun. at this point my two are 11 1/2 and 13 inches long with a gerth about 3 inches. they are doing fine in a 55

also i have found that later down the road say you have two piranhas already, you cant add anymore to the group. They will eat each other. its almost like they dont recognize the other piranhas as piranhas since they did not "grow up" together.
