tuff one.. a pleco wont eat most of the left overs.. forget about that one.. it would be nice 8)
tank mates... some large silver dollars? how big is your tank? but don't think the piranhas would attack the pleco or silver dollars.. however.. how many piranhas do you have? how big? tank size?

acually a piranha is more likely 2 attack a bigger fish then a really smll one i have seen many case wher piranha are mixed with small fish like neon tetras and they seem to get long fine aslong asthe piranha are well fed :)

My tanks size is 120l and i dont have my piranhas yet im thinking of getting them soon

so thats around 30g... as per LINK these get to 30cm in length, theres no way in hell 30gallons is going to house them! what you got at the moment?

Before everyone jumps on the TANK TO SMALL, WONT WORK wagon!

Correct the tank is to small for semi mature reds, but if Youngie90 is getting baby 20p sized reds, the tank will be ok for a good 4 months but then YES they would need to upgrade the tank.
So maybe this fact should be pointed out rather than just saying forget it?
Surely the point of the forum is to highlight these points and educate people so they can learn. Just saying forget it aint going to teach them nothing.
Just my opinion.

Per the op's question, I wouldn't count on anything lasting in a tank with piranhas. With most pygo's you have a chance of it lasting temporarily, sometimes 5 minutes or 5 months but one day there's a chance they will turn on them.

I've heard of people having minimal success with plecos that are very large. I wouldn't chance anything with piranhas, especially if you were to get Serras.

I agree, although some people have had success with large pleco's and certain types of piranha's, on the other hand others have had no success at all. The nature of the piranha can be very unpredictable with tankmates, i would personally not advice keeping them with other fish just for the sake of not risking it.

Ive got 9x 6"+ red belly piranhas in with 1x 5" denticulata, 3x 12"+ plecs and a shoal of 15 neons
All fish bar the neons have been in the tank over a year so far.
