In Some states they are legal others not so
Your LFS might know why don't you ask them.

I wouldn't recommend crowding them. They will kill each other off to make room. They get to 12" so a 20g would only be good temporarily. They grow about 1-1.5" a month until 6-7"

3 per 55g would be about right. I keep 4 in a 75g but i bought 6 because I know 2 will be killed. Just the way it is.

Make sure you have heavy filtration and good water flow and they'll be more active.
