Hi Guys. i seem to have a lot of red algie growing on my glass .. i dont have anything in my tank except live sand and rock.

my stats at the moment are
sg 1.0125
ph 7.7
cal 500
nitrite 0
ammonia 0

still waiting for other test kits to arrive

any idea to get rid of it . or should i just leave it and get some live stock to eat it ????

i also have reddish coral? growing on my rock .. when i put on the blue leds they turn a sort of bubble gum pink .. really nice but agian don't know what they are

thanks guys.. sorry about ramblin on

sounds like cyano bacteria to me? google it.

its just phospahtes usually. get some phos remover and do a water change, did you use good RO water?

+1 on Ben about the cyano...3 main causes: Low flow, high nutrients, or bad bulbs in your light fixture. Try getting rid of one of these issues at a time...try increasing flow, try upping the water changes or using RO/DI water instead of tap water, and replacing your bulbs.

Can't really help out on the coral without a pic...
