Hi people, it's been a while.
Um, i just moved and while i tried to avoid my tanks going through another cycle, it's happening any way (got new gravel). one of the tanks (30 g) with two angels is giving an ammonia reading around 2 ppm (maybe a little higher), nitrite at .25 and nitrates 5. The tank smells as well. I put in some streszyme but noticed the use by date is 03. i hope it's not messing with my readings. my testing kits are new. The angels seem ok. they're not gasping but they are pretty mellow. i'm not feeding them a lot etc even tho they beg when i come to the tank. the ph is 6.0. i haven't tested the tap water yet. of course i'm using a conditioner and doing a small water change every two days. so...any advice to make this process easier for them? i was hoping the old media, plants and decore would have been enough for the new tank but apparently not. i've had these fish for years and they're used to prime conditions so i'm bummed for them.
