i have decided to get rid of my fluval fx5 filter, just not having any luck with it,if i have the valves fully open it just stirs up my tank and makes it cloudy,so someone out there recommend another filter for me for a 340 litre tank preferably with a spray bar.

thanks

scott

you may want to change the positions of the outlets on the fx5 so that it blows the water across the tank or down grade the filter to a fluval 406 as the fx5 may be to powerful for you aquarium

Tetratec ex1200.

thanks will have a look at that one, can't wait to get rid of my fluval fx5

tried more positions thats in the kama sutra book, but always stirs my tank up,just had enough

Tell you what, I have a fully cycled ex1200 and will swap you for the fx5?

The 1200 is probably one of the best filters available mate, cheap, well made, included media is fantastic, far better than what you get from fluval.

Gawd I wish I was closer to you minnnt, I could do with some ready cycled media :)

Eheim 2078 would be the pick from my filters, after my FX5 (maybe it helped a lot that I got mine new for £140 in 2010). The 2078s might be quite pricey, but they are well made and have a good cannister size with plenty of options, including an optional extra USB connector for PCs!

they are around the £250 mark now and i don't think that includes media

once my co2 system has sold i will be buying the Tetratec EX 1200,then my fx 5 will be sold :good:

well the co2 kit should be gone in the next few days, hopefull have my new filter next week then the fx5 can go on e-bay,yipee

well the co2 eventually sold for £85,just about enough to cover my new filter,i had to laugh at the bidders on e-bay though i had 16 people watching the item and 10 of them e-mailed me asking if it didn't sell for £85 would i consider selling it to them cheaper!!!!!!
