Planted tank, 4' long x 18" high x15" wide. At the moment it's got an Atman external filter which is starting to leak from one of the taps when disconnecting for cleaning. It's also quite poorly designed and well past its best. Hasn't got a model number on it, but it's approx 13" x 8".

So what would be a good filter to go for with this size tank?

TIA

id go with the tetratec range. Either the EX700 or EX1200 would be ok :good:

I'd never heard of Tetratec before, good reports from what I've just read about them though. Thanks.

Can't believe how much the prices vary online for the EX 1200.

£59.95 at The Living Seas

£110 on ebay

Anyone found them cheaper elswhere, or had dealings with The Living Seas?

hehe. FX5!! Couldn't resist.

Just Kidding... I hear good things about the tetratec.

Got my 1200 at the same price from Living Seas earlier this month.

Ordered lunchtime on Wednesday, here mid-morning on Thursday. A1 service.

Great filter with loads of media and I just love the spraybar attachment.

Can't go wrong at that price.

buy a eheim it will last you most of your fishkeeping life

I've got the tetratec from living seas (they must be doing a roaring trade in these, the plugging they get from this website lol). Real easy to set-up, loads of media, all in all a great filter for the price.

I have the same size tank, heavily planted and heavily stocked, Fluval 305 is more than enough :good:

I'm sure it is, but it's a bit more expensive than the EX1200.
Anyway, I've bought the EX1200 now.

Thanks to everyone who replied, cheers.
