Are there any plecs or more specifiacally L-numbers that could be kept in 18"x12"x12".

I am guessing not but there is no harm in asking the masses is there?

Thanks guys, had thought of Otos but not the Chinese Algae Eater so there is another possible! I was hoping fo something more plec-ish but think will have to consult the trusty old aqualog!!!

Any ideas on plec type cats for a tank this small.

BN/ bristlenose plecos! easy answer, and if you are lucky, they will breed like stink and earn you a few bob too!!!

That would be ace, love the old Bristlenoses!! Is it best to buy several and then let them pair off when they get a bit older before re-homing the others???

I'm going to end up with about 20 tanks at this rate with all the ideas people are coming up with. Thanks for the advice boboboy from 1 Leicester-ite to another!!

Which shops in Leicester do you use bobo???

Ocean commotion, and the little shop on Beaumont leys. but most of my fish are from rescue! though some are from Pets at Home!! I know, but i honestly have never had a problem. though last time i checked their prices (1 and 1/2 inch bala £9.99) i decided not to stay! i avoid A5 like a plague, very good deals on gear. but the rottenest fish i have ever had the misfortune to buy! for gear i always try Clearwaters, he is usually up for a deal.

Having read the pinned topic about plecs under 8" what would be the problem with me keeping a ingle plec that grows to say 3-4" in an 18x12x12???

Is it just the water quality would be really difficult to get right or would there just genuinely be not enough space in there. I'm confused??? :S

You will survive in your own bedroom for the rest of your life,..... But will you really enjoy it and be happy??

BN's IMO need a 24 long minimum,

a bulldog pleco is the only other problem.

CAE's prefer cooler fast flowing water and although docile at first, they soon grow into some nasty little gits, they have been known to pick off fish of their own kind and other species,

go with ottos, or a bulldog pleco

If I was locked in there with Sky TV, a microwave, fridge and Christina Aguilera I would be over the ruddy moon to live in there!!!!!!

or 2-3 pitbull plecos once the tank is mature

Could I really keep 3 pitbulls in a tank that size???
