We reallly really like the red blood parrot fish! And We would like to add it to our tank but not before I check here to make sure its ok.
We already have 5 angel fish, not fully grown 2 1/2 inches, 8 good size harlequin rasboras, 8 serpae tetras of good size and 5 clown loaches. Oh, and also one of those featherfin catfish.

We really would like to add a smaller size red parrot fish. Would this be okay, given our tank setup? We have seen larger ones that would really transform our beaitful 55 gallon tank , but I think it may not be best, based on my searches on this forum, and would rather get a smaller one.

What do you guys and gals think???
by the way, i tend to be meticulous when it comes to my water quality so my ammonia is 0, as is my nitrite. My pH is always 7.6, very alkaline tap water. I do water changes one a week, probably more often then I need to, given our load.
We were looking at a parrot fish that was fairly small at the fish store, not the larger type I find at most petsmart.
Anything else we should know?? My mom would really like this fish a lot and be a lot happier with the tank!
Thanks for your help!

BP's grow quite large (8"+) so would probably eat your smaller fish (the harlequins for defo). They are also quite messy and dig in the gravel and uproot plants. If you plan to keep all the angels long term then I dont think getting the BP would be a good idea. Otherwise yes you could get one as long as you dont mind it rearranging the the tank and such.
