Hi
Right, one clown loach died day before yesterday, during treatment with Esha 2000. This morning I found a dead male guppy, and another has no tail, so I'm waiting for the inevitable. Two of the female guppies are really still, but I know one of the females is having babies anyway, just don't know which one. The water parameters are all fine; ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 50 and Ph at about 7.4. Could it be too warm in there? Its reading 29/84 in there now because I turned the heat up to help prevent white spot when I introduced my clowns.

This is turning into a real nightmare as per my other post a couple of days ago about sick guppies with white patches, which isn't white spot.

Urgent help is needed here, as I don't want to lose the lot!
Please help!

Helen,

Check your PM's!!!!

Also,

In your pm to me, you did not mention you were treating with medication!!! This coupled with the high temps has most certainly deprived the tank of needed 02 levels!!!

Whenever treating with meds, it is always a good idea to add extra aeration by way of a simplr airstone!!

I have an airstone in there, as always, and the venturi system on the filter so I do not think it can be lack of oxygen, also the danios would be suffering as well wouldn't they? and they aren't. They're their normal crazy selves!

I took my tail less fish to the LFS and he said it sounded like the so called guppy disease. So, Im now treating with Esha 2000 combined with Esha Exit. Me being the silly moo that I am transferred 2 of the babies born this morning into the nursery tank so I've treated that as well, hopefully I'll have got away with that. So, just wait and see I guess. See what tomorrow brings. He's going to replace my dead loach too, when the time comes.

Helen,

So sorry, but you didn't give me these details in your PM to me that is why I responded with the answers I did.

I still feel 50 ppm of nitrite is to high!!!

What is "guppy disease"???? Never heard of it. Please ask the person at the store simply for my own curiosity!!
