1. Substrate + play-pit sand (Washed) 2" deep
2. Lava rocks and slate in place
3. Planted assorted plants.
4. Heater placed on back glass (NOT switched on)
5. Internal filter (aquatropic) attached to side glass with NEW suckers.
6. Slow fill with water (local Degrees Clark 3.36) ? is this soft water?
7. Added water conditioner
8. Switched on heater & filter, set lights timer to two 4hr periods.
9. Added 5.50ml ammonia, to 110L
10.Two days later totally P*+*** off filter has dropped into bottom of tank twice
new suckers not holding replaced with old suckers one hour later filter in bottom of tank again,
sucking up sand.
11. Filter now supported onto side of tank with string around support bracket.
12. Looking to replace internal filter with external (why can't makers of internal filters use a
support system that hooks over the side of the glass under the hood)

Advice needed looking to purchase a Allpond Solutions 1000EF would this be suited to filter this tank,
planned stocking is 10 harlequin rasboras, 5 Red line rasboras, two sucking loaches, 4 Almano shrimps, 2 assassin snails.

Good external filters with large media capacity, only disadvantage is the flow rates being a lot less than the quoted figures so use discount code OCTOBER-15 and get the APS2000 instead ;)

Discount only valid until Wednesday)

The Allpond Solutions 1000EF has got to be better than the crappy PF3.

Discount code ? where ?

Try reading my post again :)

And the APS2000 is better than the APS1000 so why not upgrade.

Cost! pensioner on a budget.

My APS1000EF arrive PM.

Question. In what order should the medium baskets be installed, I have got three floss sheets, a bag of ceramic rings, a bag of carbon granules, and a hand full of bio balls, and three trays, taking that I should not need the carbon at the moment, and I'm going to put the medium from my internal filter in with the new medium, until the first clean is needed.

This mornings tests were Ph 7.8 Ammonia 0 nitrIte 3.3 nitrAte 90 temp 28
I did a 60% water change and added 2ml ammonia then re-tested ammonia 0.6 nitrIte 3.0

As you were planning on spending £49.99 on the APS1000EF anyway I didn't realise the extra £9.50 it would cost to upgrade to the APS2000EF (using the 15% discount code I gave you) would break the bank.
