Went into the LFS today and they've got some baby RBP's in there less than an inch long, the guy I was talking to said they normally feed them either feeder fish or other meat products but happened to drop some tropical flake in there and they took the lot :p

I had rbp's before, they eat pretty much anything. i gave mine pellets to increse their color, and often i feed them brime shrimp and tropical fish flakes.

mine also took what ever I put in there they loved flake food, and frozen foods.

Most fish will eat just about anything. In the wild they have a lot harder time getting food than as pets. Most fish go for the food with the highest amount of protein (anything living or that was living). If they have other choices that are easier to get to (won't swim away) they will probably go for that.
