i think i owned one of these for a year... it was such a lovely little fish. beautiful colors. schooled with the guppies.

has anyone ever owned a school of these? what did (do) you keep with them? what were the final sizes like? i've gotten all nostalgic for them...

I have seen them a few times in the better shops in the last couple of years. They are commonly sold under the name "Green Fire Tetra". I haven't kept them for 20+ years, they were "new" back then.

There is a xanthic form which is supposed to be highly desirable, but when I saw them, they simply looked diseased.

They are not reported to grow to more then say 50mm. I don't recall any of mine every getting that big even.
