thanks for the comments

Just realized I didn't put this in household pets :look:

OMGOSH!!! She is sooooo adorable!!!   If it wasn't for my mom's extreme fear/hatred of rats I would have at least two.

awww so adorable! makes me want to get another one... snowyangel ... do they have to have friends?? if so... can my jimmy have one even though he has never been with any other rats his whole life?! will they fight!? do i need a bigger cage?! thank you!

Rats are VERY social animals and should be bonded to other rats(introducing younger rats is easier) if possible. I've seen rats that have lived alone all their lives(probably in depression) and they're are still able to bond to another rat. I'm sure you know already how bonded rats can get to their human companions, but when they have a partner they're actually become twice as playful, will have a companion 24/7 to groom, play with and also someone to cuddle with at night(rats and importance of companionship: http://www.ratsrule.com/ratcare.html#company ). I couldn't imagine our two girls ever being seperated, they would go into depression.
Here is a cage caculator for how many rats per size of cage: http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/information/ha...cagecalculator/

lol i like rats but not the wild ones, i got bitten by one lol in a field and had to go to hospital and have a Tetnus jab and some other injections

Nope she's alone. She's always been alone. I don't have enough time to take two rats out all the time and watch them close enough, so just Memoo is out with me all the time and she loves it. She attacks anything that gets near her and has always seemed to hate other living creatures, and I've seen things go really wrong when introducing a rat to another rat that has lived alone for a long amount of time. I've also seen rats with missing eyes and deep wounds from fighting with their "play mates." Imo she's fine this way. I know tons of people who have single rats that live totally happy lives. And most of the rats that I do see living in pairs or groups are in cages too small and too dirty that smell of urine and are problems waiting to happen.

If I did ever get two rats (I'm talking after Memoo moves on to the big cage in the sky) I'd get a male and a female, and spay and neuter them. :)

Well i wish you all the luck then. :) But as a note, taking care of two is not harder. Two rats will play with eachother so you actually don't have to take your one single girl out as much. Instead both will only need about an hour a day of play time. My girls i let run on my bed and sometimes unsupervised as mine are quite house trained.
