Rams

I have a Golden Ram in with Platies, Corys, and Otos. I must admit I've not had much luck with the females of the species but I think that is cos I had them 1 on 1 and she got harrassed to death...

I believe that the males should be kept 2+ females, to keep the agression from being focused on a single female.

depends on the species, if its bolivian its fine to add them in a community, but if its a blue, gold or electric blue ram (all 3 are the same species) do not make good community fish, they demand temperatures of 28oC-32oC with 30oC being preferable, Fail to do this and you'll face:

Hole in the head, digestive and immune troubles, I have seen 2 cases of HITH when these fish are kept at the wrong temperatures this week. It really is vital to their health.

what fish are suitable to be put in with blue rams?
species that can handle the high temperatures, cardinal tetras, sterbai cories, make sure your GH is below 10 degrees before adding them though, and that your PH is under 7.6, also a sand substrate is advised because they're earth eaters.

and would i be able to get away with not having to do an in fish cycle?,if i was going to introduce bolivan rams to my tank,my tanks been up and running for 10 days now,but wouldnt be looking to introduce b/rams for another 4 weeks or so?

you cant put bolivian and blue rams in the same tank, they require different temperatures, and rams should only be added to tank that have been fully cycled and have been running problem free for 3 months. you cannot use rams for cycling, they'll die.

wasnt going to m8,was just thinking that ive just starting out at this tropical fish and them blue rams sound abit hard to look after ,so was thinking about something easier.
