In your opinion would you say a 4ft tank would be to small to do this?

Or do you think it might be possible? because im considering maybe trying this with the below fish in my sig.

by 4 ' you mean ? A 40 or a 55 gal should be , fine , Do take into consideration that your clown loaches will grow pretty big . But kribs with rams in that size tank should work o.k. Provide several shelters . The rams may or may not use them , but kribs will in my experience .

Personaly i would'nt put the two together i had kribs before and they went mad at anything there sort of size that was swimming in there territory. But hay its up to you all fish act differently. :/

Thats what I've kinder heard myself, but wanted to hear other ppl's experiences of doing this (its a 42 gallon 4 ft tank)

It also depends on how many of each , breeding pairs , these things matter , but That's a good foot print for individuals or small numbers of each[2-3], give it a shot , keep an eye out . provide as many shelters as you can . As well as areas to swim . The rams wouldn't really be the instigators , the kribs , I'd say yes . If you also provide some kind of target fish [to distribute any agression ] that would be a good thing as well . If it doesn't look like it's working out bring one or the other back .

you could cosider some apistos , maybe cockatoos [ a little pricey however ] maybe some curviceps[ reasonaley priced] or some nancara[ again pricey] , although non are as colorful as kribs . If the kribs don't work out .

I have read that
kribs will make short work of rams

So I would personally say no. But then I also had a dwarf puffer in a community tank with no problems.....

Cheers for all the input on this I'll think I'll give it a miss for the time being. It does seem that most ppl think along the same lines as in that it could be dodgy

Interesting topic as I am thinking of getting a male Krib for my 75gal planted tank. We have 1 female krib and have had 8 blue rams in the same tank with no problems at all. We now have only 2 rams, (long story but my fault), and I am thinking of getting a male krib in hopes they will breed. Again we have not had a problem with the Ram/Krib ever. All bets may be off when the Kribs breed. ANYONE HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WITH A PAIR OF KRIBS IN THIS SITUATION? Maybe we just have a very docile female but she has never bothered any of the Rams.

Here is what we have:

75 gallon, heavily planted, CO2 injection
5 Altum Angels
2 Blue Rams
1 Krib
2 Cory's
3 Harlequin Rasbora's
3 Kuhli Loaches
4 Hatchet Fish
3 Octocinclus
2 Cardinal Tetra

i have 2 kribs and a firemouth in a 10 gallon tank..

the firemouth got beat up by my convicts so he now lives with the kribs... the kribs dont mind him... jus chase him away, but doesnt bite him

lol.. i always get heat cuz of the fish i put in my tanks :S

the kribs and firemouth usually stay away from each other...

kribs will chase him away but dont nip him... the firemouth got beat up pretty bad by the convicts so maybe the kribs feel sorry for him and thats why they dont beat him up good.. who knows :X

The problem isn't the firemouth with the kribs. The problem is that a firemouth should not be kept in a 10 gallon tank. They grow to 6" long or so.
