Ram died after spwaning.

After an accident in my tank my two surviving rams had really bad color and hid alot. It's been about 3 weeks and their color has returned and they spawned this morning! I had a huge male who's mate died in the accident. So now he spawned with this new female who has gorgous color. I came in to feed tonight and he was dead! Could this new female have been aggro in gaurding eggs and killed him? This was their first spawn together. His color was still good but he was more black then usual. There were no fight wounds or anything... what could be the cause of his death? I now only have one female ram in my tank, one cherry barb, and two otos.... this was the pair that survived!

What kind of accident are you referring too?? that might be necissary info to give a good assesment of what happened to your fish...

Totally agree with phoenix here, what was the accident?

Rams tend to be more sensitive than most, and unexplained fish death is not uncommon with them, unfortunate outcome of poor quality stock. However, it would be a good idea to make sure the tank is healthy first before jumping to this conclusion, so letting us know the water parameters, maintenance schedule and info about the accident would help.
