Raising The S.g

When people say you can't raise the S.G by more than 0.002 per week when your cycling you tank, can you just add all the salt required at the start of the cycle?
 
dunno where you got that raising the salt thing from, but you should have a tank 3/4 full of proper sg water (1.023-1.026) ready when you buy your rock (assuming you're using LR) with a bit more in a bucket nearby. Bring the rock home, aquascape on the glass bottom, setup powerheads/heater/hardware, fill in with sand, turn on hardware, top off the rest of the way from the bucket, wait for cloudiness to subside...
 
When I started my 29 gallon, I poured fresh into the tank and added the salt. My s.g. was off the map for a day, but you have to let it sit for 24/48hrs for proper distribution of salt. I actually had to remove some water cause I put in too much salt. Never heard that other statement.

Sorry my bad, wrong section. I will be doing a brackish set-up (1.006).
