Anyone that raise LR off tank bottom, I need advice. I had cut off pieces PVC pipe to 1" long pieces using 1/2" and 1 1/2" pipe. My rock came in very big pieces, had to bust up, when I tried to build my reef, I could not control the small pieces of pipe and could not
achieve any stability. I finally gave up and just piled all $167 worth in the tank hoping some folks might give this old goat some
direction and I'll attack it again. Sure appreciate any direction!!

Thanks

You can use egg crate or the plastic screens in the ceiling of buildings that have skylights. It's like a 10mm square plastic mesh. Works well if you can get it.

what type of rock did you get? I got tonga branch/ finger and i actually just made a type of table out of the rock and piled the rest on top.

I am not a personal fan of eggcrate as I think it creates dead zones. Have you considered siliconing pieces together into shape you like? You can actually drill small holes (a pain) and use those plastic ratchet ties to hold it together too (they will get encrusted with coralline. Aquarium epoxy putty works too. SH

I got the Lalo rock from the Drs, very pretty, but it came 2 quite big and 1 medium, 30#, had to bust it up with chisel, off white now hope it gets pretty again. Almost too much rock for my 24 Aquapod, really hope I do it justice. I'd like to figure out how to put pictures on here and I'd start some progress shots.

Not sure what you mean by this. I added LR to my initial purchase (which was about 23lbs and I thought was a little light for my 24G). SH

Sorry, can't read this!!!

He's trying to tell you how to change the size of your text. You have been putting the code to change text size at the beginning of your posts as if you had been trying to change your text to size 5.

In order to do that, like Musho said, you need to make sure that you type between the brackets, not after them, for the size change to work. When you hit the button and the code comes up, click in the middle before beginning to type, like this:
size="5"] put text here [/size

See what I mean? I had to remove the beginning and ending brackets so you'd be able to see it but I hope you can get my point.

Then after you've posted the part inside the brackets won't show, and your text will be bigger.

That said, there is seldom a reason to change the size of your text. It would probably be seen as "yelling".

I know I'm a little late on this.

I used some plastic mesh which is normally used as a tank divider (comes with lead weight at the bottom). I took the lead off and simply cut the matting to the shape of the tank and placed the live rock onto that. It isn't deep enough to create dead zones but does give some protection for the glass from the sharp live rock. :good:

My frustration would be that when you move established live rock, you can never get it on the bottom again

Hope this helps someone, if not the OP.

Cheers
