Raised white betta scale

Hi everyone,
I've had my betta for a few days now and ever since I bought him he has had a white, raised scale.
It doesn't look fungal or infected or like it's an injury.
He is housed in a 10 gallon tank with 6 neon tetras.
He is active, eating well and there has been no aggression towards the tetras.

Water parameters are:
Ammonia- 0ppm
Nitrite- 0ppm
Nitrate- 10ppm
Ph- 7.0

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Do you know how old he is? I mean he could be developing more color but I doubt this... Sense you said that you just got him a few days ago, it could be a disease that he brought to the tank. So watch your tetras closely. I'd also think about upgrading to a 20g for the tetras with the betta.

If he has the marble gene (I think that's what it's called), he will continue to change colors throughout his life. Or it could be a scale that got pulled loose by something in the tank.

i think it should heal up since it probably is a scratch

He probably got it caught on something and it lifted. It happens.
Just monitor it for red around the wound (this is bacteria), and white fluffy stuff (this is fungus). At this stage though, he looks fine.

Thanks for all your help I am planning on getting a bigger tank for the tetras I rescued them from a friends neglected aquarium and didn't have anywhere else to put them. Glad to hear that it's nothing to worry about.
