I just got my angelfish yesterday and lost one last night (probably due to stress of moving) and this morning I noticed a raised, puffy spot on the upper left side of one of them. The angel is not showing any signs of distress or irritation but I'd like to treat this the best way possible b/c I don't want to lose another!

Thank you!

After looking at your picture I'm thinking it might be gill flukes? I really don't know how to treat that disease though.

I hope someone comes along who can help you better!

Good luck

(edited) Oh wait I see the spot your talking about now....I thought you were talking about the gills as they look puffy and inflamed to me....but maybe thats just how angels look.

Sorry not really sure what that could be......hmmm.....

Thanks Elisabeth - yeah, the gills are fine, I'm talking about that spot above... :(

Params...
NitrAtes - 20 (I think my kit just tests high for this - when my lfs tested one time they came up with about 10-12)
NitrItes - 0
Ammonia - 0
Total Hardness - 120
Buffering/Alkalinity - 180
pH - 6.7
:dunno:

can't help but try
www.fishdoc.co.uk
look for lumps, bumps, scrapes etc

Thanks for the link. I checked it but it didn't really have anything that looked like what my angel has.

So, I bagged him/her up and went *back* to the lfs (we were there 2X yesterday). The diagnosis is inflamed fish bite. I was thinking maybe that's what it was, but didn't really know.

So, a good dose of melafix and back in the tank :/
