Hey all. I'm researching some new fish for my tank, and came across some beautiful rainbows in my lfs. I don't have my books home, and I can't find much on the net about them in planted tanks.

Basically, I have a pretty heavily planted tank with co2 and all that jazz.

Do you think I would be ok to get some? And idealy, how many should I get for a small school?

Thanks in advance!

I have 5 rainbows in my 72 gallon which is heavily planted. (I had 9 but I was getting a bit overstocked.)

They used to be in a plant-less tank and their color was never as beautiful as it is now in the planted tank. The pH in this tank is lower due to the CO2 but it doesn't appear to affect them at all. They're great fun to watch -- very active and big appetites!

I would get at least 5 as they do appear to enjoy hanging out together.

Fab-U-lous!! That's just what I wanted to hear. I was a little worried about the pH. Mine is around 6.5 all the time. I'll have to go go back to the store and check them out.

thanks
